We invite you to join us in launching a ground-breaking international conversation to confront the poisonous ideas at the heart of the persistent devaluing of Black lives and the systematic under-development of Black communities all over the world.

They are at the root of the massacre of the Emanuel 9 in the United States, Afro-phobia in Europe, and the skin-lightening epidemic in parts of Africa. They are at the root of the too-common police killings of Black people, and violence within Black neighborhoods worldwide. They are the reasons that people of African descent, in the words of the United Nations, are among the “poorest and most marginalized groups.” They explain why, to so many people, Black lives do not matter as much as White lives do. They are the twin lies of White superiority and Black inferiority: the root causes of the devaluing of Black lives and countless other injustices against people of African ancestry across the globe. These lies have persisted for generations, and must be overturned if the lives of Black people are to be truly valued, and if Black communities are to be truly transformed. These lies contribute to all of the challenges facing Black people throughout the world, and any strategy (educational, economic, health, political, etc.) aimed at improving conditions for Black people must address them.

Valuing Black Lives: The Annual Global Emotional Emancipation SummitSM will bring together leaders of African descent from around the world to develop action plans to free ourselves and our children from the lies of White superiority and Black inferiority–once and for all. Confirmed and invited participants include representatives of the Pan African Movement, the African Union, the United Nations, and major Black associations in the United States, Canada, Europe, the Caribbean, and Central and South America. This initial Summit will begin a global conversation about the lies and their origins and effects, devise strategies for dismantling them, and establish international working groups for continuing collaborative action. Registration is limited and will open on July 27, 2015.

Join us to reclaim our humanity and dignity as people of African ancestry, and take control of our destiny. For more information and to register, please visit www.CommunityHealingNet.org/2015GlobalSummit.
