The Role of the Black Elected Official in Today’s Political Climate

Wednesday, September 12
6:30-8:30 p.m.
WilmerHale, 1875 Pennsylvania Ave NW, Washington, DC 20006

In today’s political climate, communities across the nation are grappling with issues such as over-policing on the state and federal level, immigration policies that unfairly target communities of color and religious minorities, and education policies negatively affecting the LGBTQ community.  Today’s tumultuous times force us to ask: what is the role of the black elected official in shaping progress?

Presented by the National Bar Association Young Lawyers Division (NBA YLD); Greater Washington Area Chapter, Women Lawyers Division, National Bar Association (GWAC); and Washington Bar Association Young Lawyers Division (WBA YLD)
